MicroStim® TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
400 - III
CURRENT: The device has 2 current modes labeled MILLI and MICRO.
The Milli range is : <50 microAmps to 6 milliAmps peak ± 20%. The maximum current is 3.5 milliAmps nominal true RMS AC + DC.
The MICRO range is: <10 microAmps to 1.2 microAmps peak. The maximum current at MICRO is 700 microAmps nominal true RMS AC + DC.
It is selectable using the RANGE switch which is labeled MILLI/MICRO. This switch is on the TREAT section of the console.
VOLTAGE: 3O volts maximum peak. 60 volts maximum peak to peak in bipolar mode.
30 volts peak in unipolar mode. This parameteris actually 28volts ± 2 volts.
Voltage calibration is 25 volts across a 10 kOhm load+/- 20%.
FREQUENCIES: 4 modulated frequencies = .3 Hz , 9.1 Hz, 30 Hz, and 292 Hz.
CARRIER WAVE: Each of the above frequencies is generated concurrent with a 15,000 Hz carrier frequency.
POLARITY: 4 options positive square, negative square, bipolar square, and bipolar slope. The polarity isselected with the MODE SWITCH in the TREAT section.
Also note that the current is not a true biphasic current. It is a direct current which switches polarity approximately once every second. Any reference to biphasic current actually refers to the bipolar current. This is a current which switches polarityonce each second as opposed a true biphasic which is one which changespolarity with every cycle.
BATTERIES: The Stimulator Module requires one 9.6 volt Makita power tool battery, Model 9000. This battery and its charger is available nearly anywhere in the world. Considering the excellent durability of the battery and charger, this has turned out to be an excellent choice.
MicroStim® 100
The output of the MicroStim® 100 is almost identical to that of the MicroStim® 400, with the following exception:
Technical Specifications: The MS100delivers only the biphasic current waveforms, there is nodirectcurrent mode available in the home units. The biphasic-only choiceon the home unit is a safety consideration which makes it significantlysaferthan devices which deliver a choice which includes direct monophasiccurrent.
The size of the MS100, of course, is much smaller than that of the MS400-III. The MicroStim® 100 weighs 140 Grams iincluding the battery, and is 24 X 57 X 91 mm, which is smaller than a deck of cards. The following photo shows the MS100 laying on a CD, to give you an accurate concept ofthe size.
